How to connect steps?

Ok, first of all: I am allowing you to laugh. As this is probably so basic that I will be banned from this forum for spam

My problem is that I can't connect the steps I make. I try to drag a dot to another dot on the other step, it dont work. Then I try to click a dot then the dot on the other step, but no.

Please help me

You should click it twice. Double clicks do the trick
