[Advice] - Solution to desktop alerts?

Just looking for any suggestions to a small problem.

I'm looking for a solution for alerts. ZP goes and checks a website, and when there's a change, I'm notified by an alert. I'd rather use a desktop alert that is able to recognize hyperlinks (and opens in my browser), and also plays a sound.

My only other solution is to install Gmail's very own desktop software, then have ZP send me an email.

I've tried ZP's very own Alert function, but cannot resize it, play a sound, or have hyperlinks display properly.

Write batch file to open URL,play sound.
execute the bat file.

Thanks Zeus, but I don't follow. How does one achieve this?

Just as an aside; is it also possible to send an email straight from within ZP?

filepath : c:/batch.bat

write:
START http://yoururlhere
START sound.mp3

save the file and open it . It will open the URL in browser and play the sound.

Managed to find a solution for this via an old program called: File Alert Monitor (works on windows 7).

It monitors any folder for any changes, new file, file deleted, even new data written to file, and plays any custom sound and pop-up. This is important for my new project as I need to be notified of certain changes to a website asap.
