Email Activiation and Proxies

I noticed that when emails are activated through POP3, that gmail detects your computer's proxy, not the proxy shown in the instance tab footer.

Is it possible to activate emails through POP3 using the proxy in the instance tab footer [ie the proxy being used for account creation]

Currently proxies are not used for email processing

Hope it can be fixed in the next updates? One can't keep on logging into so many accounts from the same ip. It will make the account creation/verification difficult.
