how often do templates need maintenance updates?

obviously this differs from site to site, but on average how often would you say that a template needs to be updated for changes on the site?

I'm talking about things like web 2.0 creators/posters, bookmarking, articles, ect.

I'm planning to build out quite a lot of templates and want to know how much time will be required to maintain them....

Well, it does depend on the site. For example email providers change often. Hotmail just did a major renovation. As far as other sites such as bookmarking sites they may stay the same for months without you touching them. Others will change what seems like weekly to stop automation software from hitting them.

more popular sites change frequently and we need more work for do updates.
