Loading text via var as list path error

Am using var as path for list.
Upon clicking the List icon - I can see the lines of text in the list (meaning it loaded ok)
When clicking "view the content" - its a blank page with no content or text.
When running project maker debug mode - getting "Run List Index was out of range"

Is it a bug - or am I doing something wrong?
