I would suggest to add encryption to template by default.
Meaning when you make new template then encryption is added already - with option that only you can edit template.
That would be more secure for us, even when we making templates for personal use it is much better that we have encrypted template. You will never know who can stole your data, shit happens.
Also in this case we can avoid that we giving open source template to someone accidentally.
Had happen that once with me.
Encryption could be like Project settings - Profile etc. added in template by default.
