Singleline and multiline?

In order to capture a block of text, instead of a string of text and process it with regex, I believe you have to enable singleline regex. But how is this done? Is it an extra bit of regex thats introduced into the expression or is it a mode in a library of regex that may not be supported in zp's regex processor?
