Could we hide our browsers?

I was just wondering. Could we hide our browsers? Reason I ask is because if we have about 10+ threads working on internet explorer. Doesn't it slow our cpu?

log out and log in under as another Windows user

I just leave them running minimized, so you can do other work.
The threads mostly gobble up memory, so if you have a modern multi-core cpu and more than 4 GB ram you should be ok.
I've gone up to 80 threads and could still use my computer with no problems or lag (YMMV).
