Disappointed while working with large sites

To be honest it was a long time since I got to work with complex sites. But now I'm working with Google AdWords and I can see that nothing is changed, PM is 64bit now? But still, when there is 2GB RAM usage it lags like hell.
So there are zero improvements in this field?
