Is the traditional Web Unlocker really going to be completely subverted in the AI era?

Hello everyone! I’ve been working on large-scale data collection and automated web crawler projects lately, and I’m struck by how aggressive the anti-bot mechanisms (anti-scraping firewalls) on major websites have become. From Cloudflare’s latest 5-second challenge to various behavioral CAPTCHAs, traditional approaches like rotating proxy IPs and brute-force header spoofing are seeing a sharp drop in success rates.

I recently came across a technical talk titled *The Intelligent Wall-Breaker: How AI Disrupts and Reshapes Web Unlockers*. Drawing on my recent research, I’d like to discuss how AI is reshaping the Web Unlocker technology stack:
1. From "Forced Intrusion" to Human-Like Evolution
Older Web Unlockers relied heavily on large residential proxy pools and static fingerprint libraries. Modern AI-powered unlockers incorporate machine learning instead:
• Dynamic behavior simulation: AI learns real users’ mouse trajectories, scrolling speeds and click latencies in real time to generate fully random yet highly human-like interaction patterns.
• Dynamic mutation of TLS/browser fingerprints: Instead of rigidly forging request headers, AI predicts the review and risk-control models of target websites and adjusts fingerprints on the fly.
2. Intelligent Overmatch Against CAPTCHAs
In the past, complex image or behavioral CAPTCHAs could only be handled by third-party solving platforms, which were slow and costly. Today, AI modules built on large models and computer vision (CV) can identify and automatically pass nearly all types of verification challenges in seconds with zero human intervention.

💬 I'd like to hear everyone's opinions and hands-on experience:

1. What is the most tricky anti-scraping / bot protection shield you have encountered in your projects so far? (Cloudflare, Akamai, PerimeterX, or others?)
2. Has your company's in-house crawlers or third-party services started adopting AI-powered bypass technologies? Has the actual success rate improved significantly?
3. In the long run, who do you think will gain the upper hand in this battle between "AI-powered Web Unlockers" and "AI Anti-bot defenses"?

Crawler architects, data engineers and full-stack experts, feel free to share your insights in the comments. Let’s exchange the latest bypass techniques and troubleshooting tips!
