Math.Min

I want to get the Min of Variable a and number 2

For example, I gave 3 to variable a, and then I tried
return Math.Min(project.Variables["a"].Value,2);
But it gave me an error message saying Argument 1: cannot convert string to sbyte...


How to solve this problem?

When I tried using Convert.ToInt32, it passes, but it wrongly returns 0 rather than 0.3.
