Split templates

Hi guys what is the best way to split templates ? Example i have registration and posting in one template but i would like to get registration in one template and posting in another. How can i do that ?

COPY OUT THE BRANCHES.

Yes i know that way, but this is not very fast and good way.

Duplicate the template (xml file) and delete all the un-needed info from the xml directly -
