If you use a global variable as a list path and then close the list window
you cannot double click and open the list window again. Even if you save/close
the project and open it up again you still can't double click the list icon to open
the window. You are forced to delete the list and add a new one with the same
name if you want to work with that list window again.

Thank you :)
Will be checked.

Couldn't reproduce it.
Does the problem stays after rebooting of PC?

I just rebooted my system and tried again but the problem stays. Tested multiple times now.

I can right click the list and rename or delete it but if I click edit it doesn't open or if I double click it nothing happens either.

Not sure why you are not getting the same problem but I definitely am. Again it doesn't matter if I save and reopen the
template the list will still not open. Also if I close PM completely, reopen it and open up the template I still can't open the list window as well.

Pretty strange.
Will try to test it on other machines.

You should add one step after initializing global variable where bind list to a file. In list settings tick load from a file but do not specify name. Works fine such a way.

I understand what your are saying but that is only a workaround for this problem and it isn't ideal for my case really.

The reason being that the global variable is in fact the location of a certain directory so in the list path I want to use {-GlobalVariable.email@gmail.com.test-}/whatever.txt

Yes I could go and create a new global variable for every file in the directory and then bind each file to a list that I can use in other templates but it only complicates the matter really since there is already all sorts of binding using the same list names etc at work in this initializing template and I don't particularly want to deal with that now.

This should work just fine for me the way it works for Anton in his test's so even though I know your
workaround will work I'm not going to start changing around stuff in my template and just hope this
bug/problem gets fixed.

Cheers

Just tested this on both Laptop, and Server, im experiencing the same problem.

Why has this thread title just been changed from '4.2.0.0 List Bug/Problems' to 'Usage global variables with lists' ?

Instead of ignoring my question Anton and playing around with thread titles I would much
prefer if you just answered my simple question above, acknowledge that this is a bug and
said the developers are working on fixing it...

Please send us logs from Zennoposter /Logs folder (zip the whole folder) + include Windows logs (Control panel - Administrative tools - Event viewer. Then choose Windows logs - Applications. Select all events for last 2 days and export them)

Include in email link to this thread.

Can anyone confirm that this bug will be fixed in 4.3.0.0? I've been waiting to hear a update
about it either here or get a reply from support after I sent them the logs etc and nothing yet

I really need this fixed,
Thanks

Not solved yet.
